I have been grated a Vanguard Fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Studies, University of Birmingham.
I have been announced as the winner of the 2023 SHF x Cultural Studies Award in recognition for my article 'SoHo as virtual theatre: performing gender, race, and class in 21st-century Colombia', which was published in Cultural Studies vol. 36, no. 1 (January 2022).
Along with A.J. Bauer and Clara Juárez Miró, I co-edited a special issue for the open-access Journal of Right-Wing Studies, an academic journal operated by UC Berkeley’s Center for Right-Wing Studies.
A chapter of mine, titled ‘The far right from the underside of history: decolonising far-right studies’, appears in the collection The Ethics of Researching the Far Right: Critical Approaches and Reflections published in 2024 (Manchester University Press) and edited by Antonia Vaughan, Joan Braune, Meghan Tinsley, and Aurelien Mondon.
I was awarded a Tremplin teaching buy-out funding from the Swiss Bureau de l’égalité to visit the University of Birmingham in the autumn semester.
